YOUR TOOTHBRUSH CAN MAKE YOU HAVE A SERIOUS SICKNESS

Toothbrush, as many including myself will consider it as a safe tool that can be used to keep our teeth clean and free from infections or germs. However, is it not a threat if you heard that a good tool like that can make you sick? Yes, it can! It is normal for you to wash your teeth twice every day to make you look good and have a nice appearance. It helps you to have nice and good set of teeth. It will help you prevent your mouth from bad odors and decay of tooth and so on.

WHAT NEW???
I hope you wouldn’t be surprised if I tell you that your toothbrush that you use almost twice in a day can cause diseases like gastrointestinal illness, transmit HIV/AIDS and other blood transmitting diseases, diarrhea, skin infections among others? Well, read this article very careful and get to understand how.

There are thousands of bacteria in your mouth that can rest on your toothbrush when you use them. Since most bacteria can grow in moist environment, bacteria can easily grow on your moist toothbrush you refuse to keep dry after used and this can cause infections that can lead to diseases you can’t ever imagine to contact through the use of toothbrush.

The bristles of the toothbrush have be proved to harbored millions of bacteria range from E. coli bacteria , which causes diarrhea, and staphylococci ( staph ) bacteria that cause skin infections among others. It is therefore advised to keep the toothbrush properly clean and store in adequate environment. Placing toothbrush on the closet can attract gems, especially when flushing the toilet. Research showed that bacteria are release from the toilet water spray while flushing it, those bacteria can rest on toothbrush place on the closet. The spray from the toilet water can spread noroviruses (this is a group of related viruses, including the Norwalk virus that causes acute gastroenteritis, inflammation of the stomach and intestines in humans). That is to say, it can cause gastrointestinal illness.

Again, it is possible to catch blood transmission diseases by sharing of toothbrush. If infected patient with blood transmitting diseases like HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B or C and so on used toothbrush and uninfected individual share the toothbrush with the patient, he can contact the disease. Bacterial infections and blood-borne diseases can be caught by sharing toothbrush.

In the same vein, if you share toothbrush store place together with such patient or even thing ordinary/uninfected person, there can be germs swap. It is wise not to share toothbrushes store with even a closed family member or anyone (this is not discrimination but prevention). Dirty toothbrush can pass bacteria or virus particles to the rim of toothpaste tube and can be transfer on and on to others. Please beware!

THE USE OF TOOTHBRUSH CAN ALSO CAUSE HEART ATTACKS AND STROKES
Toothbrushes are of different types, sizes, textures and forms, these can be factors which can cause damage to the gum especially hard bristled toothbrushes that can damage enamel and irritate the gums. Expert recommended the use of soft toothbrushes which have been considered as the best for the teeth cleaning. When gum is damage by hard toothbrush, it can be an entry point to micro-organisms which infect the gum.

Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums; the gums become swollen, shiny and bleed. This Gingivitis, it said to occur as a result of poor oral hygiene, which leads to plaque buildup. The plaque on your teeth then attracts bacteria. Research showed the bacteria in the gum can enter blood stream and this can cause clotting of the blood and thickening of arteries, a condition that can result into heart attacks and strokes.

In a related research, patients with missing teeth showed thicker walls in their arteries and tooth loss to gum disease might be an indication that one’s arteries are thickening. Practicing proper hygiene can prevent plaque and bacteria buildup, which can decrease your chances of your arteries thickening and causing a heart attack or stroke.

You must brush your teeth regularly, at least twice in a day to prevent any form of diseases that can emanate from it. It is good to visit dentist regularly to ascertain that your teeth are in good health condition,
A bleeding gum should not be overlook without adequate and proper care. If there is any bleeding from your mouth, the bacteria from your gum can easily get into your bloodstream and cause blood to clot and strokes; it can also result to heart condition known as bacteria endocarditis. Endocarditis infection is the inflammation of the membrane lining of the inner surface of the heart, including the heart valves. A serious and fatal heart disease; it can cause damage to valves and heart its self.

WAY OUT!!!
Once you are aware of this now, what should you do? Prevention is said to be better than cure, try as much as possible to prevent yourself from any form of diseases that can come from the use of toothbrush. Keep your toothbrush clean, store in a dry place and follow every medical precaution to take care of your teeth.  Take adequate measure to stay alive, live healthy life and live long.
